A fireside country inn with a proudly local heart.
On Mill Lane in Mobberley, near Knutsford, The Bulls Head has the feel of a quintessential English village pub and country inn. Inside, exposed Cheshire brick, low beams, a stone floor, candle-lit tables and two open fires create an inviting backdrop for a relaxed drink or an unhurried meal. Outside, the garden and terrace offer another appealing place to settle in when the weather is kind.
Food is central to the experience, with the operator describing dishes prepared freshly each day and a seasonal approach. The published offer includes steak, Wobbly Ale pie, fresh haddock and chips, Sunday roast beef and sharing boards, while CAMRA notes much freshly cooked food is locally sourced. A January 2026 Food Standards Agency inspection recorded Good standards across hygienic food handling, cleanliness and food-safety management.
The pub also has a lively community-facing side, with regular events, live music and a monthly quiz recorded by CAMRA, alongside the operator’s Local and Proud identity, car clubs and a relationship with St Wilfrid’s Church. Well-behaved dogs are welcomed in the Whisky Snug, garden and terraces, with dog-friendly touches described by the operator.
