Privacy and voting

Cheshire Pub Collective is edited by Landlord Priodol. For privacy questions, corrections or deletion requests, email LandlordPriodol@gmail.com. This page describes the site's actual features; it is not a promise of verified one-person-one-vote identity checks.

Your vote and the collection order

You can choose one up or down vote per pub. Both arrows are then disabled for that pub. Vote totals are not displayed. Each accepted upvote swaps a pub with the one immediately above it; a downvote swaps it with the one immediately below. The list is not re-sorted by vote totals. The editor can also set a manual position; subsequent votes continue one-space movement from the current order. Editor moves are not counted as independent reader votes.

Each pub's number is its current position, including on the map. An up or down movement indicator compares that position with the original curated collection. It is not a daily, weekly or live time-window trend, and is not proof of pub quality, popularity, profitability or an independently measured rating.

Essential cookies and repeat-vote checks

Voting uses a signed browser identifier and a keyed fingerprint of your network address to discourage repeat votes. Raw IP addresses are not saved in the vote table. These identifiers and votes are stored on the project VM; public responses do not expose visitor identifiers or vote totals. Editor login uses a separate secure session cookie.

These controls cannot guarantee one vote per person. Another visitor sharing your network may be prevented from voting on the same pub. Changing devices or networks may bypass limits. We do not use advertising or third-party analytics cookies. Browser-saved favourite pubs and private assessment drafts stay in that browser and are not uploaded by those tools.

Vote records are retained while this version of the collection is active to enforce the one-vote rule. You can request help or deletion from the editor; identification of a specific anonymous vote may be limited without its browser information. Standard hosting security logs may process network addresses to protect the service.

Your privately submitted experiences

The recommendation form stores your account, pub/location, any visit date, consent and optional email in a private editorial review queue. These are not publicly visible or automatically emailed to pubs. Save the receipt reference if you want to request a correction or deletion. We use an optional email only for editorial follow-up, not a mailing list.

Unpublished submissions are kept for review and follow-up and can be deleted at your request. Publication of an account is a separate editorial decision, requiring corroboration where appropriate and a fair opportunity to reply. Do not submit other people's personal details, unnecessary staff names or unsupported accusations.

Email drafts and external websites

Local Voices and contact buttons open your own email app. Nothing is sent automatically; you must review the draft and press Send. Your email provider then handles that message under its own terms.

Pub social links, websites and directions take you to external providers. The optional street-map layer contacts OpenStreetMap only when you choose to load it, sharing your IP/browser request information with that provider. The embedded geographic map makes no external map requests.
